Community Marketing Manager // Minneapolis Bouldering Project

At Minneapolis Bouldering Project I handled all gym member communications and marketing initiatives related to membership acquisition, engagement, and retention.

A member since opening in 2017, I got to speak to a community I aligned with. I executed and launched membership campaigns that maintained it as one of the most profitable gyms at the Bouldering Project.

Success through Multi-channel Marketing

Email Marketing

1 month into starting with BP, I owned the launch of all email marketing initiatives. This meant:

  • 8 core evergreen campaigns converting gym guests to gym members

  • Seasonal email campaigns around major holidays & promotions

  • Weekly Newsletters to an audience of 30k promoting membership retention events

  • Monthly Youth-specific Newsletters to an audience of 5k promoting high-revenue driving youth programs

Social Media

Balancing operational logistics, membership & program promotions with a brand voice that is approachable, playful, and down-to-earth was a unique challenge that accompanied being the brand voice for a local community.

I enjoyed crafting a unique tone and voice that spoke to the membership base. I achieved this through monthly content calendars organized to support each revenue goal.

SMS

Every character counts with SMS.

Utilizing text meant razor-sharp copy with fine-tuned segmentation to achieve revenue goals.

I used SMS as a part of the Summer Camp 2025 strategy and generated 15% of camp registration through text, resulting in $24k in revenue.

Web

Creating & maintaining the day-to-day of our website (WordPress) quickly familiarized me with a new platform.

Strengthening our social & email efforts by directing to our website, I created web pages for high-revenue offerings like membership sales, camps, and youth programming. See my work:
